Jones Family farms

FAQ

How do I know if you’re open or what field you are picking at on a specific date?
You can call our farm crop report at 203-929-8425. During the harvest season, the message is updated frequently with all the necessary information you need. Go to directions for the field locations.

Is there a real Farmer Jones?
Yes! The Farmer Jones on the phone message is Terry Jones, the 5th generation of the family to work on this farm. See About Us for more history of the Jones Family.

Do you take credit cards?
For summer berry seasons and harvest-your-own Christmas trees, Jones Family Farms only accepts cash and checks for payment. Credit Cards are taken in the winery, pumpkin season retail locations and Christmas barnyard area.

Where can I get updates on Jones Family Farms news?
You can follow us on our blog, Facebook, Twitter or YouTube.

Can I bring my dog/pets to the farm?
Dogs are only allowed with guests in the Christmas tree fields during our tree harvest season in late November and December. During our other seasons, please leave your pets home, as we observe Good Agricultural Practices, and thus we can’t have even the best trained animals in the fields with food.

Is there a place to picnic/tailgate on the farm?
Good Agricultural Practices discourage the consumption of foods in our customer harvest/parking areas. We encourage visitors to visit one of the nearby parks that are set up to accommodate picnickers.  Please see our guidelines regarding parking lot refreshments.

Can we hike/walk/ride on farm property?
We enjoy that everyone loves the beauty of our land, however it's very hard work to keep it looking that way. We invite the public to join us during retail times, however when we are closed we must ask, for the safety of our guests and our farm, that you visit local parks such as Webb Mountain in Monroe or Indian Well in Shelton to spend the day outdoors.

Does the farm host birthday parties?
Due to staffing, space and safety issues, we do not have set-ups for birthday parties. We do hope birthdays are celebrated with fresh fruit and vegetables as the centerpiece, however, we request an adult family member come beforehand to pick for an at-home party or a picnic at a park.

Does the farm host group tours of the farm/pumpkin, berry, tree fields/vineyards?
At this time we offer Public Walk & Talks and our Fall School Programs. More events like these are added throughout the year, so continue to check back to our Events Page. At this time we do not offer tours for groups such as scouts, senior centers, camps etc.

Can I do a photo shoot/engagement shots/wedding photos at your farm?
Due to the nature of agricultural work we do here at the farm, having groups arrive for photo shoots are very difficult to arrange. At this time we do not have the ability to allow for these kinds of events.

Where can I buy a Jones T-Shirt, Hat, etc?
We have begun a small program of test products. Sales of these items (caps, magnets, etc) are done in the winery tasting room or at special events throughout the year.

Do you sell food on the farm?
During pumpkin season and Christmas tree season we offer cider as well our wonderful cookies made from scratch here at the farm.  Jones staff can provide a list of local restaurants for you after you check out.

Do you offer school tours at the farm?
Yes. To learn about our different autumn programs, school program dates, and pricing, you can visit our Fall School Tours page after August 2010; however, please note, space is very limited.

Is the farm handicap-accessible?
In the harvest farmyard parking lot there are handicap-accessible parking spaces. The barnyard is a relatively flat surface that some wheelchairs are able to handle if the weather conditions are good.
